Tsotsi

We went to see the Inside Man last night. I've always like Spike Lee joints, I'd have to say my favourites are Summer of Sam and Bamboozled "Feed the idiot box, feeeed the idiot box."

Although, we accidentally walked into the wrong theatre. 20 minutes in we figured out that Denzel Washington wasn't going to appear. Maybe the fact that noone was speaking english should have cued us in. I found out later that the film we were seeing was called Tsotsi and the people spoke Zulu, Xhosa & Afrikaans. Man, African people are so linguistic advanced, I had no idea that they were switching between several languages. There were even english words, that must have been part of the Afrikaans. s' good s' good was a common phrase.

Anyways the movie was amazing, one of the best movies I have seen this year. One thing I liked was that it was a movie about Africans in Africa, instead of a movie about foreigners in Africa. Constant Garderner was good, but I'd rather see a movie based around African people.
